Due to COVID-19’s impact on travel and lodging businesses, in particular here in Hawaii, Honu Kai has had to change how we conduct business. To ensure your safety when staying with us, we have implemented strict protocols and updated continuously to current COVID-19 State and Federal guidelines. We place the safety of our guests at the highest level.
Until travel picks up to our former levels, we are also limiting our room availability to our Nigori Suite only. This allows minimal interaction with other travelling guests and very personalized service for the two guests. We will maintain our usual warm and friendly zen-zone approach, and interact with guests in a manner that they are comfortable with. Please contact us regarding availability of our other rooms for future reservations.
Wearing a mask is not required in our huge outdoor space, and as there will be only 2 guests, social distancing is very easily accommodated. We are permitted to have groups up to 10 people gather. Our beaches are open and Volcano National Park is open. There are MANY options for self-guided touring itineraries, which we will help plan for you, and give you any necessary equipment and directions with our usual ‘cheat sheets’ of how to make the most of your day. And don't forget about our Sunset & Stars romantic dinner for two on the beach!
Our restaurants are operating with social distancing guidelines, all indoor eating is allowed – wearing a mask is only for entry or movement inside the restaurant, no mask needed when seated. Hawaii Island only requires a mask for entry to grocery stores and other retail operations.
We hope to welcome you to the magic of our Big Island ... It’s a world away from yesterday, where the Aloha spirit is still very much alive at Honu Kai!
